Winter Retreat
2026
January 16-19, 2026
Departure:
We need everybody to meet at Woodland Baptist Church by 3:45pm at the latest on Friday, January 12th. The buses and vans will be leaving the parking lot at 4:15pm. We will eat dinner as soon as we arrive, so don't worry about food beforehand. Check-in will occur in the Woodland gym.
Arrival:
We will be leaving the camp on Monday morning, January 19th, at 9:30 am. We anticipate being back around 11:00 am.
What To Bring
A Bible, a Pen, and a Notebook - We are going to be in the Word a lot this week, so make sure you bring your Bible and something to write with and something to write IN! If you don’t have a Bible, talk to us!
Toiletries - Toothbrush, deodorant, shower products, etc.
Bedding - A sleeping bag will do, or you can bring sheets and a blanket for a twin mattress. Be sure to bring a pillow as well!
Extra Cash - Ridgecrest has a snack shops and merchandise you can buy while we are there, so if you want any of those things, be sure to bring some extra cash.
Pack extra clothes - It’s January in North Carolina, so pack warm clothing. The walk from the cabins to the worship area is about 7 minutes.
Prescription Medicine - ALL prescribed medication needs to be turned in at Woodland Baptist Church to John or Katie before we leave. Each individual person needs to have their specific meds in a ziplock bag with their name, dosage and usage written down for our medical team.
Warm Clothes - Remember this isn’t summer camp, so be sure to bring a hoodie or coat!
Your Phone - 16 and up are able to keep thier phones as long as there are no issues. Anyone younger than 16, please turn in your phone before departure.
Water Bottle - In order to ensure that you are ready to worship and get your tribe on, you MUST stay hydrated, so make sure that you bring a refillable water bottle. (There will be water coolers located throughout the camp to refill water bottles.)
Towels - Please make sure you bring a towel to dry off with after showers. We are only there for a weekend, so we do not have time for air drying!
A favorite part of Winter Retreat for us is the Late Night activity. Here are the themes:
Youth Pastor Night - Ever wondered what it would be like to dress like your youth pastor (or Katie!!)??
White Out - Dress in all white!
Glow Night - Get ready!! Bring some glow sticks, neon paint. If it glows, it goes! This is the last night at Winter Retreat, so let’s make it epic!
Cost: $100 - If you have not paid, please give it to Pastor John.
Currently there are 230 students from Haywood County going, and it will be a great time for everyone.
